There is Indian wear, and then there is Indian wear reimagined for the woman who refuses to choose between heritage and fun.
Prahnaaya, founded by Preeti Ghosh, sits squarely in that sweet spot — where tradition meets a wink, where familiarity is filtered through colour, ease, and unapologetic individuality.
Preeti’s design philosophy is refreshingly modern: she takes silhouettes we know — the salwar set, the kurta, the lehenga-inspired skirt — and strips away the weight, quite literally. Fabrics rooted in heritage such as ajrakh and handwoven textiles become unexpectedly playful under her lens. A burst of neon here, a reworked motif there, a dash of embroidery that feels artisanal but never ornate.
The result? Indian wear that feels lighter, younger, infinitely more wearable.
Pieces that move with the body rather than overwhelm it. Ensembles that honour tradition without being beholden to it. And styling that invites every woman to bring her own personality into the outfit.
What draws us to Prahnaaya at Canvas & Weaves is this sense of freedom.
Preeti designs for real lives — for morning coffees, for festive evenings, for destination weddings, for days when you want to feel rooted but still unmistakably yourself. Her collections carry a contemporary spark while holding firmly to the culture that shapes them.
Prahnaaya is not here to rewrite Indian fashion;
it is here to make it feel alive, effortless, and entirely of the moment.
