In the series ‘Entropy’, playing with systemic and networked patterns, the aritist seeks to explore new ways of seeing pattern and order within the random and chaotic. Artist Biography Zoya Chaudhary is an artist born in India and a resident of Singapore since 2011. She works across mediums including installation, video, cut-out collage & painting. Zoya’s art practice is focused on exploring ideas of subjectivity, perception & memory. Her works begin with the personal, and then build to consider ways the personal interacts with larger public narrative. Zoya has been sketching, drawing, and making things since as long as she can remember. After completing Applied Arts in Mumbai in 2005, she went to work as a visual artist, designer, and illustrator, for creative and media agencies. She also designed and performed for several theatre productions in India. She relocated to Singapore in 2011 where she started showing her art in exhibitions and art fairs, locally and internationally. In 2021, Zoya received an MA in Fine Arts from LASALLE College of Arts, Singapore, where she was the recipient of ‘Dr. Winston Oh Travelogue’ award. She also a received the Art Gemini Prize, 2019 for her painting Thinking Tamil,Talking Singlish, Eating Chinese. Recently she had her second solo exhibition ‘Presenting Pastness’ April 2023 at Art Outreach, Gillman Barracks, Singapore. Her works are part of several private collections worldwide.
