If you are a EU customer, please do not make a mistake of buying from Canvas and Weaves.
I ordered this dress on 2.09.2025. The company never stated anywhere that the shipment will arrive from India. That was an extremely unpleasant surprise for me, I found out upon the parcel's arrival. I would have to go to the customs multiple times and collect a ridiculous amount of documents to release it, so I refused the parcel and requested the return to the sender. The Canvas and Weaves told me I would receive a refund once the parcel arrived back to the sender. Today is 4.12.2025, and I have tracked the UPS, the parcel is back in India long time, but nobody is receiving it. I have neither received the refund nor any response from the company on when the sender will receive the parcel back. Moreover, I only ordered this dress from them since I thought it would be sent from Singapore. And the cherry on the pie - they position themselves as a company that sells luxurious clothes, but it's a scam. I found another website with the same exact dress, and it is 70 -75 euro cheaper there. Plus the company honestly states that the dress will be sent from India. I will keep searching for more review platfroms so more people can find out, until Canvas and Weaves fixes the situation.
Part 2: Dear Canvas and Weaves team, you did not even bother to check out my name and write it correctly. You have ignored multiple emails from me, but uoi immediately reply to a bad review.
The link that you give does not lead to clear information that the product will be shipped from India. You also give the company address in Singapore for returns, I am sure that is to mislead customers like me. You never type anywhere "We ship from India", until you actually place and pay the order. When will I receive a refund? It is entirely your fault that the dress was hold by customs since it has been sent from India. I do not have a few free days to go to the customs and battle with them to release it and wait in queues for hours. So yes, I refused the parcel, it was sent back to India and has been sitting there for ages since nobody is receiving it. You have been informed of my refusal, reasons to it and you promised a refund.

According to the UPS tracking system, the parcel has been sitting in India for ages by now, and nobody receives it.
I have sent last email to you 4 days ago, it has been ignored, like the one before it, which I can easily prove with screenshots.
Anyway, with the way you react and reply, you once again prove that no customer should ever buy from you. Since you chose to act like you do, and reply in the way you do after ignoring multiple emails, I will find more platforms for reviews. People should know. And you should refund me, you would have done it long ago if you truly were a company you position yourself to be.

1. Shipping Origin — Clearly Disclosed
Our Shipping, Returns & Exchanges page (https://www.canvasandweaves.com/pages/shipping-return-exchange) clearly states at the very top that our products are made in India and shipped from India. This information has always been publicly available, and we have been fully transparent about our logistics from the outset.
2. Refusal to Clear Customs
In your case, the parcel reached your country and UPS contacted you for clearance. You declined to proceed due to the documentation and duty requirements. As a result, the shipment was classified as “Refused by Consignee.”
Once a parcel is refused, UPS follows its international return protocol:
The shipment is routed to a return processing facility,
Assessed for Return-to-Origin (RTO) feasibility,
And if return charges exceed the value or are not authorised by the consignee, the parcel is moved to bonded storage and subsequently destroyed as per carrier regulations.
At no point in this chain have we, the sender, received the parcel back.
3. Customs Duties — Country-Specific & Not Controlled by Us
Every EU country has its own duty and VAT regulations. These are government-mandated charges, not Canvas & Weaves fees. Once a shipment leaves our facility and enters the receiving country’s customs system, the communication regarding duties and paperwork happens directly between:
the recipient,
the courier (UPS), and
the customs authorities.
This is global protocol, and not something any retailer can override.
4. Courier Partner — Not a Small Operator
We ship through UPS and DHL, two of the most reputable international freight carriers. These are not small or unregulated couriers—they are industry leaders with highly standardised customs processes.
5. Refund Eligibility
As we also explained directly via email:
We process refunds only when the item is physically received back by us, as per our return policy and global e-commerce standards.
To date, your UPS tracking still shows the parcel as “In Transit – Return to Sender”, not delivered.
If you have a signed Proof of Delivery (POD) showing it was delivered to our facility, we request that you share it. We have not received the package.
6. We Ship Globally Without Issues
We ship across the EU, US, UK, Australia, Singapore and the Middle East regularly. Customs procedures vary by country, but thousands of clients complete the process smoothly. To place full blame on us for a customs refusal is, respectfully, misdirected.
We have been responsive and communicative with you at every step. However, customs duties and clearance documentation fall entirely outside our control.
